The Hospital
Located in the London Borough of Enfield, Chase Farm Hospital is part of The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL), one of the UK’s largest trusts, delivering care to more than 1.6 million patients each year. (click here for details of Airwave’s work with the RFL).
RFL acquired Chase Farm Hospital in 2014, and set about a redevelopment scheme which was achieved at an unprecedented speed for a project of its size and complexity in the NHS.
Following the completion of the redevelopment in July 2018, Chase Farm stands at the forefront of pioneering new ways of working – to deliver better, safer and more efficient care to patients, through new and innovative technology.
A hospital fit for the future
Driving Chase Farm’s development, was a desire to provide ‘a hospital fit for the future,’ using technology to streamline the patient’s , and consequently improving the experience of both patients and staff.
We have used a combination of the latest technology, clear signage and zoning to help patients and visitors to easily find their way through the hospital.

The Technology
Chase Farm wanted to make navigation through the hospital easier for both patients and staff, and contacted Airwave, on the lookout for an integrator who could supply and install digital signage hardware.
Airwave recommended Samsung Smart signage, wall-mounting 5 x 32-inch QMR Series and 14 x 43-inch QBR Series signage displays, on Btech BT8200 flat-to-wall brackets.
Both models boast a slim, symmetrical design and clean cable management, ensuring a small footprint and offering a pleasing ‘modern’ aesthetic in keeping with the hospital’s technical remit.
Other key features include FHD (32-inch) and 4K (43-inch), built-in WiFi and Bluetooth and 16/7 operation.
